Once again, we are giving you the opportunity to create the ultimate chocolate cake and enter our cake off competition. Last year we launched Chocolate Week’s search for the ultimate chocolate cake at Chocolate
Unwrapped and due to its overwhelming success, we’ll be hosting another edition of the Great Chocolate Cake Off.
The competition is open to all home bakers, to be judged on Saturday 13th October at Chocolate Unwrapped by our panel of experts - Great British Bake Off 2012 contestant Cathryn Dresser and 2010 Champion Edd Kimber, Rococo's Chantal Coady, chocolatier Damian Allsop and Mostly About Chocolate's Judith Lewis. In return for all your hard work every entrant will receive free entry to the show (usually £12).
Last year’s winner is now working as a professional baker for a new cake venture from the guys at Niko B Chocolates so we’re very excited to see what this year’s entries will bring.
Each entry will be judged on smell, texture, appearance and, most importantly, taste. Each category will be marked out of five, except for taste, which will be out of 10, giving each entry a final score out of 25. Our judges will spend the afternoon tasting all the entries, before holding a public judging of their top five at the end of the day.
The number of entrants is limited (our judges can only consume so much cake in one day!), so you must get your entry in asap to be in with a chance of taking part in the fun and win a chocolate filled hamper.
To enter, just fill out the online form, with your details, the recipe title, the type of chocolate used and an explanation of what makes your cake ‘the ultimate chocolate cake’ in just 25 words or less.
